Types of Funerals
Cremations:
It’s important to acknowledge that planning a funeral can be a difficult and emotional experience. We understand the significance of this event and are here to support you in making the arrangements that feel right for you and your loved ones.
We recognise that cremation has become a popular option for many families, and we offer the flexibility to hold the service in a variety of settings, whether that be in a chapel at the crematorium, a church, or another venue of your choosing. We believe it’s essential to honour your preferences, and whether you choose a religious or non-religious service, we can assist in finding the right person to conduct the ceremony.
During the service, you and your guests can choose to either gather outside or take a seat in the chapel before the coffin is brought in. The service typically lasts between 35 to 45 minutes and can include personal touches such as hymns, songs, eulogies, and readings. After the service, the coffin is usually hidden from view so that mourners can have a private moment to pay their respects before the cremation.
We understand that dealing with the ashes of your loved one can be a deeply personal and challenging decision. Most crematoriums are able to return the ashes within a week, and we can offer guidance and support as you consider what you would like to do with them. We hope to provide you with the care and understanding you deserve during this difficult time.

Burials:
Funerals From The Heart provides compassionate support and guidance to those planning a funeral. We offer tailored funeral services that cater to personal preferences and beliefs. The team can help organise the funeral and burial at a cemetery or burial ground of your choosing, purchase a grave on your behalf, and find a venue that holds special meaning. The funeral service typically lasts between 20 to 60 minutes and can include hymns, eulogies, and readings. The committal service takes place at the graveside, and the team can assist with reopening a family burial plot or purchasing/reserving multiple plots. The team is available to answer any questions or concerns.
Green and Woodland Funerals:
It is important to note that there is no industry standard for a “green” or “eco” funeral, and all funerals have some level of environmental impact based on the choices made for the service. However, there are different options available for personalising your funeral to consider environmental factors based on your preferences or concerns. Woodland Funerals may be a suitable option for those who are interested in environmentally friendly funerals.
We can assist you in arranging for a loved one’s final resting place to be in a woodland burial ground as an alternative to traditional burial or cremation. These grounds can still be faith-based and offer a variety of coffin and ashes casket options. At the graveside, a short committal ceremony can be held, and flowers can be placed without cellophane or ribbon. Memorial trees can also be added to mark the loved one’s resting place. Our Funeral Arrangers can help you find a natural burial ground near you if you are interested in exploring this option.

Unattended:
Unattended Cremations can provide a more affordable option for those who may be seeking simplicity or have budget constraints, without compromising on quality care. This option offers a no-fuss or simple cremation process that can meet your needs. During the funeral, your loved one will be transported to the crematorium in a non-ceremonial vehicle with a team of staff accompanying them on their final journey. The cremation does not include a formal funeral service and is usually unattended, allowing you to bid farewell to your loved one in your own way, rather than with a traditional ceremony and mourners present at the crematorium.
Despite the lack of a formal service, you can still arrange a private memorial service or a celebration of life at our chapel before or after the cremation, to best reflect your loved one’s wishes. We understand how difficult it can be to make funeral arrangements, and we are here to help you decide whether unattended cremation is the right choice for your loved one. We can provide you with more information and help organise an unattended cremation service tailored to your requirements.
